Nagarkot is a small hill village which is famous for panoramic Himalayan sunrise and sunset views. It is located 32 km east of Kathmandu in the Bhaktapur district at an altitude of 2195 m. The mountain ranges that can be seen include Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh himal, Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, and Everest (from a far distance) as well as views of the Kathmandu valley and Shivapuri National Park. Also we visit Changu Narayan Temple, one of the oldest Hindu temples in Nepal, originally built by Lichhavi King Mandev in the 4th century and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Our program: Early morning, our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and start the drive with a private car to the beautiful country side of Nagarkot to get an early sunrise view of the snow capped mountains. The drive takes about 1 hour and we will have breakfast at the Nagarkot village. We then hike down to Changu Narayan which takes around 4 hours.
We will see typical local villages of the ethnic groups such as Tamang and Newaris, terraced fields and green forests along the way. After visiting Changu Narayan Temple and the surrounding historical area, we will have lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we will return to your hotel by private car.
